The poem “Come In” by Robert Frost inspired me to create Promenade of Passion. I was especially affected by this phrase:
The last of the light of the sun
That had died in the west
Still lived for one song more
In a thrush’s breast.
I was striving to capture the heartfelt emotion of the poem and portray the riotous color and energy of late summer.
I created this abstract painting using archival-grade oil paint, gold leaf, and natural non-toxic solvent on luxuriously thick, inch and a half deep gallery wrapped canvas. The edges are painted, so the piece is ready to hang unframed.
