Spirit of Twilight was inspired by a deeply colorful urban sunset in December.
I tried to capture the interplay of light and darkness during the winter solstice.
To convey the brilliance of the contrast of light falling on a snow-covered city, I layered paint with gold leaf for depth and luminosity. The painting also incorporates the number eight, representing abundance, prosperity, and a connection to inner strength.
