The poem “The Question” by Percy Bysshe Shelley inspired me to create Carnival of Creation. I was especially inspired by this phrase:
I dreamed that, as I wandered by the way,
Bare Winter suddenly was changed to Spring
I wanted to capture the raw emotion of the poem and portray the feeling of the awakening of spring. I hope that my painting inspires someone as much as the poem inspired me.
I created this abstract painting using archival-grade oil paint, gold leaf, and natural non-toxic solvent on luxuriously thick, inch and a half deep gallery wrapped canvas. The edges are painted, so the piece is ready to hang unframed.
